Cubs (boys and girls from 8-10 years old) meets on Tuesday evenings term times between 6pm and 8pm. They have a wide variety of challenges, games and new skills, all leading to gaining badges. We promote independence through fun and adventure. Cubs go camping and have sleepovers. They take part in events with other packs,  such as sports – Football or Dodgeball or work towards badges such as local knowledge. At 10 ½ years Cubs start to move to Scouts.

Beavers (boys and girls 6-8years old) meets on Monday evenings term times between 5.30pm and 6.45pm.  They enjoy all that Scouting has to offer; being introduced to outdoor activities, having the opportunity to be creative, explore their local community and experience the excitement of a Beaver Scout Sleepover with their friends.

The Beaver Colony is the first and youngest section of the Scout Group. Beaver Scouts are young people aged between 6 and 8 years old, and can move to Cubs between age 7½ and 8½.  Contact: Doreen on kbeach7254@aol.com

ARC_Drama_logoArk Drama 2000 are a youth theatre group, based at Kingsnorth Parish Church, Ashford, affiliated to the Parish Churches of Kingsnorth with Stubbs Cross and Shadoxhurst. We are a non-profit making community group run by a volunteer committee and adult leaders.  Membership is open to youngsters, aged 7 to 21 (inclusive), from all religious denominations and abilities, in the Ashford area.

Our aims are to build the personal confidence of individuals by giving them the opportunity to perform either solely, or as part of a group, to an audience. Additionally we are able to provide an insight into the world of Theatre and to experience the back-stage activities which support productions (e.g. sound, lighting, prop and set construction).

The group was formed in 1999 as a millennium project but has continued since – providing a number of performances each year, to various audiences at differing locations.

We meet at 7.30pm on the 1st Wednesday in the month (except January) in Shadoxhurst Village Hall.  You do not need to have any flower arranging experience, just enjoy flowers and learning how to get the best out of them.
We have area and national demonstrators showing how to arrange flowers plus occasional workshops where we learn how to arrange flowers and foliage and even how to turn leaves into something a bit different!  We also have one or two social meetings including a visit to a local garden.
We are a very friendly club and welcome you to any of our meetings.  Our annual subscription is £20 plus £1 per visit (£5 for visitors). We have a raffle at each floral demonstration where you could win one of the wonderful arrangements created by the demonstrators!
